Lirael Doe's journey into Jiu Jitsu began in 2016 at Paragon in San Luis Obispo, California. Before finding her passion on the mats, she was active in soccer, skateboarding, and spent two years training in Muay Thai kickboxing as a teenager.

Lirael enjoys an ecological approach to teaching, finding that long-form movements and drills make her brain happy. Her goal as an instructor is to teach a weekly leglock class and to become more proficient at the technique herself. Lirael is motivated by the confidence that Jiu Jitsu builds, and she believes in the way it quiets the noise of the world after a good roll.  She says that Jiu Jitsu makes her feel more confident and helps to reduce stress.  Lirael has competed a few times primarily for fun, and notes that she has "had lots of fun" doing it.

Outside of the gym, Lirael works as a bouncer and security guard, bringing a practical, real-world perspective to her training. She is also a proud cat parent to a "little monster" named Phoebe.
