UNICORN JIU JITSU
Coaching & Mentorship Offerings
IN-PERSON PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons at Unicorn Jiu Jitsu are available with Hillary, Brian, Andrew, and Deb. Each coach brings a different background and teaching style. Whether you are preparing for competition, working on something specific, or just getting started, we will find the right fit for you.
Third Degree Black Belt - Head Coach - Multiple-time World and Pan American Champion
Hillary has been competing and coaching jiu jitsu since 2011 and has helped students win at every level, from their first local tournament to the World Championships. She started BJJ as an adult with no grappling background, which means she genuinely remembers what it feels like to not understand what is happening on the mat. Her private lessons work for competitors who want to sharpen their game before a tournament, beginners who want to build a foundation before joining group classes, and anyone who has a specific problem they want to solve.
Hillary also works with people who are just getting started as coaches or thinking about opening their own gym. There is a real difference between being good at jiu jitsu and knowing how to teach it, and an even bigger gap between teaching and actually running a school. If you are navigating any part of that journey, Hillary has been through all of it.
First Degree Black Belt - Assistant Head Coach - Masters World and Pan American Champion
Brian did not start training until his late 30s and went on to win Masters World Championships at both blue and purple belt. He knows exactly what it takes for someone who comes to jiu jitsu later in life to compete at the highest level. If you are a masters competitor, a newer student figuring out the basics, or someone who wants to train smarter and not just harder, Brian is a great fit.
Brown Belt - Assistant Coach - Certified Strength, Mobility, and Nutrition Coach
Deborah brings something to private lessons that most jiu jitsu coaches cannot: she is also a certified fitness professional with deep expertise in kettlebell strength training, functional mobility, and habit-based nutrition. Her private lessons can focus purely on jiu jitsu technique, or she can help you build the physical foundation that makes your jiu jitsu more sustainable. If longevity on the mat, injury prevention, or figuring out how to keep training as you get older is on your mind, Deborah is the person to work with.
Head Striking Coach - Blue Belt - 19 Years in the Security Industry
Andrew has been training martial arts since he was 8 years old and has studied Judo, kickboxing, and MMA under coaches who have competed at the highest levels. His private lessons are practical and grounded in real world application, whether you want to learn kickboxing for fitness and competition or develop self defense skills you can actually use.

This program is for jiu jitsu coaches and gym owners who want to build something real. There is a difference between being a good instructor and being a good coach, and an even bigger gap between coaching and running a gym. Hillary has done all three and is available to mentor coaches who are serious about developing their skills and their programs.
Mentorship covers coaching identity and philosophy, curriculum and program development, class structure and athlete development, gym culture and community building, and the operational side of running a school.
One (1) 60-minute call per month plus unlimited texting access. For coaches who are just getting started and need a monthly sounding board to stay on track.
$149 per month / $399 for three months (saves $48)
Two (2) 60-minute calls per month plus unlimited texting access. For coaches actively building a program who need more frequent guidance as real challenges come up.
$275 per month / $735 for three months (saves $90)
Four(4) 60-minute calls per month plus unlimited texting access plus one written program or curriculum review per month. For coaches who are serious about building something real and want consistent access and eyes on their actual work.
$499 per month / $1,299 for three months (saves $198)
* Unlimited texting means responses within 24 hours Monday through Friday. Three month commitments are encouraged because real change in how you coach or run a gym does not happen in 30 days.
